Andreas Lienhard is full professor for constitutional and administrative law at the Center for Public Management (member of the executive board; 1.8.2002-31.7.2020 managing director) and at the Institute for Public Law of the University of Bern (co-director). He was Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bern from August 1 2020 until July 31 2022.
He studied law at the University of Bern and was admitted to the bar in 1991. In 1994 he received his doctorate and in 2002 his habilitation.
His main areas of practice are state and administrative reforms (in particular public management, public corporate governance, court management, public-private partnerships), public finance and business law, and lawmaking.
Andreas Lienhard is Co-Editor of the International Journal for Court Administration (IJCA) and Co-Chair of the EGPA Permanent Study Group XVIII: Justice and Court Administration. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Schweizerische Richterzeitung and of the board of the Schweizerische Vereinigung für Verwaltungsorganisationsrecht (SVVOR) as well as of the advisory board of the journal der moderne staat (dms).
