Maaike Dittrich works as a doctoral researcher (PhD) and research assistant at the Competence Center for Public Management (KPM). Her research, as part of the project "A public policy and ethical analysis of the debate on research with animals in Switzerland", is part of the NRP79 research program "Advancing 3R – Animals, Research, and Society" and focuses on the use of policy narratives in public debates surrounding animal testing in Switzerland. The project is led by PD Dr. Caroline Schlaufer and Dr. Caroline Brall and is part of the Ethics & Policy Lab at the Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (MCID).

Maaike Dittrich holds a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences (Minor: Public Administration) and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
